Who We Are...
Custom Yacht Service is a full service pleasure boat maintenance and repair facility located on Carters Creek, a tributary of the Rappahannock River on Virginia's Northern Neck. Our vessel moving equipment includes a 50-ton travel lift and a 7,500 lb capacity marine fork lift. Typically, vessels up to 64 feel in length, 8 feet in draft and 18.5 feet in beam can be accommodated.
In addition to an office staff, a crew of six factory-trained technicians and helpers specialize in diesel and inboard gasoline engine service and repair, Imron and Awl-grip paint work, brightwork, carpentry, electrical, fiberglass, metal fabrication, detailing, air-conditioning / refrigeration work, and mechanical system installation and repair. We follow recommendations and guidelines published by the American Boat and Yacht Council and are authorized dealers for Yanmar, Westerbeke, Volvo-Penta, Fischer Panda, Norcold, and Cruise-Air.
Close working relationships are in place with local sub-contractors who handle precision machining, electronics repair and canvas work when such needs arise.
Complementing our service and repair business, we winterize, store, and recommission 85-100 boats annually at our 2.5 acre facility, which includes a 4,200 square foot heated building able to accommodate vessels up to 64 feet in length.
For those who are unable to deliver their boats to our facility personally, our staff holds USCG 50-ton Master Mariner's commercial licenses and can also provide short range towing as needed.
